Three-Province Impact Documentary

The brief

A development organisation needed documented evidence of programme impact across sites in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Donor reporting required more than photographs and figures — it needed the people the programme served to describe the change in their own words.

Planning the shoot

Field filming across three provinces is a logistics problem before it is a creative one. We built the shot list and interview structure with the programme team first, then planned routing so each deployment covered several sites, keeping travel cost proportionate to the running time rather than doubling the budget.

Permissions, local coordination and community briefing were arranged ahead of each visit, so crews arrived expected rather than explaining themselves at the gate.

Filming

Interviews were recorded on location with dedicated audio capture rather than on-camera sound — in open field conditions that is the difference between usable testimony and subtitles over noise. Cinema-grade cameras and portable lighting handled everything from bright outdoor sites to dim interiors, with backup equipment on every trip because none of these visits could be repeated.

Post-production

Editing, colour grading and sound design produced a full-length documentary for donor submission, plus short-form cuts for the organisation’s own channels and presentations. Subtitles were produced in both English and Urdu, with careful attention to translating testimony faithfully rather than smoothing it into report language.

Delivery

Final masters were supplied cut for each destination: a broadcast-standard version, a web version, and social crops. Everything landed within the reporting window, which for donor work is not a nice-to-have — a film delivered after the submission deadline has no value at all.
